Governor Nathan Deal has issued a Proclamation, which declares December 8—14 to be Performance Enhancing Drug Awareness Week in Georgia.
Governor Deal’s intent is to bring greater awareness to student-athletes across our state and their parents about the inherent dangers of experimenting with drugs and supplements designed to increase athletic performance.
This particular week has been selected because it coincides with the biggest high school athletic event weekend in Georgia—the GHSA State Football Championships in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
The Hall County School District has endorsed a Board of Education Resolution in support of the Governor’s Proclamation and Superintendent Will Schofield has participated in the production of a video, which is viewable in a link below, designed to educate students and parents on the dangers of PED’s.
